Greater Trochanteric Bursitis

Do you have tenderness on the outside of your hip, troubles lying on your hip, pain that can vary from sharp to dull, and can radiate to the buttock, groin, thigh, or knee. Greater trochanteric bursitis (GTB) is one of the most common causes of hip pain. Most often, GTB is the result of repetitive friction to the bursa due to a combination of muscle weakness and tightness affecting the outside of the hip.  Physical Therapy can help to decrease pain, improve range of motion, strength, and overall function.
